Prima Corrente – Cattiva Strada

About the event

Cattiva Strada is the film shown on this date in Prima Corrente, a festival of debut feature films at the Cinema di Bellano. Donato is 18 and lives in a difficult neighbourhood on the outskirts of Bari. He is the only one looking after his grandmother, who has Alzheimer's, and works as a car park attendant. His life changes when he meets Agust, a criminal of Albanian origin, who forces him to drive the getaway car after a robbery. Donato loses his job and, to find the money for his grandmother's care, joins Agust's gang.

The film follows his difficult passage into adulthood and his choice between crime and building an alternative.

Prima Corrente is promoted by the Fondazione Ente dello Spettacolo with the Comune di Bellano and the Cinema di Bellano. From October 2026 to March 2027 it presents six first films of Italian cinema, one a month, with the directors present to talk with the audience and meet local students. Gian Luca Pisacane is artistic director. At the end, the audience votes for the Premio Prima Corrente.
