Getting to Lecco

By car, the SS36 links Milan and Monza with Lecco and continues north along the eastern shore towards Colico and Sondrio. Lecco station has RE8 RegioExpress trains Milano Centrale–Lecco–Colico–Sondrio–Tirano, suburban S8 trains to Milano Porta Garibaldi via Monza every half hour from 5:00 to 23:00, S7 trains via Molteno, R7 regional trains to Bergamo, R13 to Sondrio and regional trains to Como. ASF Autolinee bus C140 also links Como and Lecco via Erba. Navigazione Laghi boats run to Bellagio only in summer and autumn.

Ferry: Seasonal boats along the Lecco branch to Bellagio, calling at Valmadrera, Abbadia Lariana, Mandello, Onno, Vassena, Limonta and Lierna, in about 1 hour 20 to 1 hour 30. In summer 2026 they ran daily from 1 July to 4 October; the autumn timetable to 1 November keeps some runs on Sundays and holidays only, and the winter timetable has none.

About Lecco

Lecco is the city at the foot of the south-eastern branch of Lake Como, where the lake narrows into the River Adda and the jagged ridge of Monte Resegone rises behind the houses. It is the capital of the province of the same name.
