About the event

This conference presents the 13th edition of the Festival A due voci 2026, which will take place in Como from 13 to 29 November 2026.

The festival marks the centenary of the death of Rainer Maria Rilke. It explores Rilke's so-called "conversion to Mélos", which followed his journey to Spain. Some scholars read it as a shift from the "propaedeutics of vision" to an ontological poetics mediated by sound and song, which finds its fullest expression in the Sonnets to Orpheus and the Duino Elegies.

For this reason, the theme of this year's festival is Mélos mediterraneo.
