Un'ora di niente

About the event

Un'ora di niente is a comic monologue written and performed by Paolo Faroni. It deals with the conflict between nature and spirit, between the exceptional and the everyday, between needs and dreams, and shows how love becomes the battleground for all of them.

Love appears here as the creative and gratuitous act par excellence, the force that inspires poetry and rules over everything and nothing at once. The text quotes Mayakovsky, who called love the only true revolution: "Love is the heart of all things. If it stops working, everything atrophies, becomes superfluous, useless."

The evening is part of Gener-Azioni, a theatre series hosted by the Accademia dei Trasformati. The series promotes "Tre-Incroci", a regeneration project that treats culture and artistic production as drivers of urban change for the former Tintostamperia Val Mulini, while its restoration is pending. The Accademia is a small space with 70 seats overlooking a fifteenth-century cloister, described as the smallest theatre in Como.
