About the event
On Wednesday 4 November 2026, for National Unity Day and Armed Forces Day, the city of Lecco holds a programme of commemorative events. It is promoted by the Prefecture, the Province and the Municipality of Lecco, with civil and military authorities and veterans' and armed-forces associations taking part.
The day is a moment of remembrance and gratitude toward those who gave their lives for their country, and an occasion to reaffirm the values of national unity and peace.
The programme begins with Mass at the Sanctuary of Nostra Signora della Vittoria and continues with a civil ceremony at the Monument to the Fallen on the Isonzo lakefront. Part of the ceremony is dedicated to young people, with students from the UNICEF project "Schools for the rights of children and adolescents". The celebrations close with the 27th Concert of Victory and Peace.
In case of bad weather, the ceremony moves to the conference hall of Palazzo delle Paure.
