About the event
ALICe Como O.D.V. holds weekly meetings every Friday afternoon for people who have had a stroke and for their caregivers. Volunteers welcome anyone who wants to take part, offering a calm place to share and make friends with people who have been through the same experience and face similar doubts and problems.
The meetings include entertainment and recreational moments, as well as information about the illness. Besides the volunteers, the association's neurologists and psychologists are present to answer specific problems that come up.
The format develops according to the needs and wishes of the participants, as this is a completely new experience for ALICe. The association will continue its work on stroke prevention and its support for patients in the city's hospitals, and now also for those who want to share their situation after returning home. ALICe's aim is to become, over time, a fixed and reliable point of reference for anyone affected by stroke who no longer wants to face the illness alone.
